ACT Project, Young Epilepsy

Young Epilepsy offers information, advice and resources to help young people & children and living with epilepsy

The brief

Young Epilepsy wanted to created a series of films with the young people who had been part of the co-created ACT project. The films would be used as part of the project and would be around 8 key topics.

The process

We started off this project with a deep dive meeting with the Young Epilepsy team to better understand the project. Following this, we ran an online co-creation session with the young people involved to better understand what the shared message that they wanted to communicate.

Following this, we held another online session to discuss style options and approaches for the film, we had surveys and separate conversations with any young people who couldn’t attend.
From the group decided on the style of the film and helped to identify contributors. We then had calls with the contributors for their input and to make sure they were part of the process.
During the filming, we gave the young people the space they need to tell their stories but to also guide the content. We had other young people on set who weren’t comfortable with being on camera, but could give valuable input on the content.

We edited the content into the eight films that were to be used as part of the ACT project. All films were approved by the young people before being shared.

The Results

The films are for use in therapy sessions and the team are confident this will be an incredible resource for other young people.
